PUBLISHING/WRITING A BOOK:

#1 Link -  http://www.copyright.gov/forms

These are the two links you will need when understanding how to copyright your work.  It does not matter how much you write, how great your works are, how much you publish or how on point your business is if it is not backed by a U.S. court it means nothing and in the end someone can steal it. You must learn how to copyright your book/art or pay someone who does to copyright it for you.

This is the company that creates ISBN’s and bar codes.  It is also the place retailers and distributors can find your works. It also has many various publishing affiliates and tools.  If no one can find you or sell your copyrighted work then enjoy watching it sit on the shelf or reading it by yourself.

#3 Link -  http://www.authorhouse.com/

This is the best one stop for self publishing that I am aware of.  Although I have not used the majority of there services everything so far has been very professional.  I plan to use more and will provide updates.

SPORTS WAGERING AND BETTING

#1 Link – www.vegasinsider.com

You will not be bale to win if you do not know the odds. This website is the best website I have found at displaying odds across casinos. Just hover the link of the sport of interest and then click on the Vegas odds link.

#2 Link – www.coverwire.com

I love to check this site for NFL and NBA pick tips. The picks are usually terrible but that just means we can bet opposite. The site is awesome for the data they report and always a fun look to see what there picking and to catch up on the latest news and betting patterns for each sport.

#3 Link – http://www.wagerline.com/

My favorite part of this site is the consensus links portion. This is a great place to check where the money is flowing and what the general public is thinking. A cool all around site with some great information for a sports bettor.

#4 Link – http://colmsum.com/

First blog I have found that posts consistent picks.  Seems to do very well also.  Still studying this one.

PODCASTS:

The following are the podcasts I listen to, but I am also open to new things. If you could post your favorites in the comment section I’d really appreciate it.

This American Life – This is an uber-popular radio show, but in case you’re not familiar, it’s an hour long show with 3-4 stories based loosely on a theme. The best thing I can say about this program is even when the theme would seem boring they end up really entertaining.
Sound Opinions – This is the “only rock’n’roll talk show.” I doubt that is true. Anyway, the rock critics from the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times discuss music news, interview guests (often high-profile guests) and review new albums. This has been great because it’s exposed me to a lot of music I otherwise wouldn’t know about.
Radio Lab – This is an entertaining show about scientific phenomenon. There’s not a lot of technical talk but when there is they do a good job of explaining and keep the mood light. It’s a science show for people that don’t know anything about science but still like watching “Shark Week”
BS Report – Finally one that isn’t from public radio. This is the Sports Guy Bill Simmon’s podcast on ESPN. One of my pet peeves is sports talking heads, too many of them are sensationalists and should never be called experts. I like the Sports Guy because he writes from a fan’s perspective and often mixes in pop-culture references.
Planet Money – Back to public radio. This podcast is about the economy, but for the layman. It allows me to follow along with my friends that majored in finance.
The Moth Podcast – About 15 minutes long, this is just good stories, told by someone “on stage, without notes.”
TTBOOK/Studio 360 – These are two different podcasts that I often can’t tell apart. The hosts sound exactly the same and they often have the same guests. However, I do get a lot of good book suggestions from them.
